Probiotics Required for Yeast Infections and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Probiotics play an intricate role in our internal biology. Your intestinal tract is home to 100 trillion of these diverse micro-bacteria organisms. It has been said that unless one balances the internal microbial or micro flora, conditions such as Crohn’s, Ulcerative colitis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome cannot be fully reversed. These living bacteria make-up 85% of our immune system. They are ten times that of the cells in our body!  Even the thyroid gland depends upon them – 20% of thyroid function requires this culture for functioning.

Probiotics Main Enemy

Imagine this vast biomass and the critical role it has to play – and then- an antibiotic enters the picture ….you have just napalmed your immune system! There are antibiotic replacements that actually work on superbugs whereas antibiotics do not. Download antibiotic replacements>> Also be sure to take a probiotics during and following an antibiotic. And let’s not forget that antibiotics are the number one cause of Crohn’s and Colitis and other gut disorders.

As a practitioner who deals with many gastrointestinal disturbances, this area of health is always part of therapeutic programming. Even with constipation, the imbalance of e-coli and lactobacillus and bifidus within the large colon has an impact on transit time of feces and on its color and texture.

Disorders Helped by Probiotics

As already indicated Probiotics play an important part in our overall immunity consisting of 200 species and 7000 strains. We have Lactobacillus and acidophilus occupying the stomach and small intestine and various strains of Bifidus within the large colon. Starting with the stomach these friendly microbes keep Helicobacter Pylori in balance which often precipitates an ulcer. Fungus and Candida are kept in check by Probiotics. Common yeast infections (Candidiasis) and related childhood ailments such as cradle cap, diaper rash are related to insufficient Probiotics and too much sugar in the diet. Even Bipolar disorder may be the outcome of too much fungus building up in the brain.

The use of Probiotics in the prevention and treatment of Crohn’s disease benefits antibiotic associated diarrhea. There is a significant level of proof resulting from research, warranting Probiotics to be used as a treatment for gastrointestinal disturbances. Also Probiotics have been shown to improve lactose intolerance implicated with Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis.

Trouble Spots

Research reveals that we have hundreds of different micro-bacteria species occupying the colon. However there are far fewer numbers living in the stomach and small intestine compared to the large colon. One of the reasons we find less bacterial invasion in the stomach and upper intestine is due to the hydrochloric acid which produces a highly acidic environment which is unsuitable for bacterial survival.

Because of the differentiating areas of bacteria population, the area near the bottom of the small intestine joining the large colon is a targeted area call the ileum. There are several symptomatic steps involving the onslaught of Crohn’s disease of which can be general among patients or more individual. What is common among people is the unwanted microbes that over proliferate and seep into the small intestine.

Colon Equilibrium

Probiotics are one of the tools used to protect against the over abundance of harmful microbial species within the gut system. In addition to the following symptoms – inflammation is a key player in the progression and enhancement of impaired intestinal tissue. Once the equilibrium of the colon is imbalanced, a series of occurrences start to play out such as; overloading the gut with waste by-products from microbes, over burdened immune system, vitamin B 12 absorption is impaired and nutrition malabsorption which is then followed by physical symptoms.

Probiotics continue to be suggested for their diverse applications in alleviating gastrointestinal complaints from yeast and infections to H-pylori and colon cancer. All of my treatment therapies include appropriate dosages of Probiotics.
